Welcome Divine Word Alumni!

Divine Word College is owned and operated by the Society of the Divine Word (SVD). During the more than 100 years in which the SVDs have been in the United States and Canada, they have had several seminary programs. These programs include minor high school seminaries, philosophy/college programs, novitiate and theology formation programs. There have been more than 20 sites located in these two countries over the years. Today, there are five active programs of formation.

In an effort to centralize the alumni from these various programs, the SVD Alumni Association was established in July of 1997. While funded by the Chicago Province, the alumni association is a tri-province initiative to re-connect with all SVD alumni from all the different houses of formation. The main goal of the association is to foster a sense of community--to rekindle the flame of friendship among those that studied together for many years.
