Prayer for Vocations

Lord Jesus, life is Your gift to us.

Through Baptism You invite us to
share the gift of our lives in service to others.
Give us the courage and generosity
to respond to Your call.

Through the Eucharist You fill us with Your
life-giving presence and strengthen us in holiness.
Give us the grace to make our efforts in Your service
fruitful in Your kingdom.

Through Confirmation You seal us
with the gifts of the Holy Spirit and send us forth.
Give us the strength to proclaim Your Word
and make known Your Will to all the world.

Open our hearts to Your service and
move the hearts of men and women to follow You as
Sisters, Brothers, Priests and Deacons.

Help parents and teachers to share their
Catholic faith and to encourage our young people
to explore religious vocations.

Guide all people, Lord, in Your ways
of compassion, truth, and peace,
that we may find joy
in fulfilling our vocation.

Prayers for My Vocation

Lord, I thank you for the gift of love and for your love.
Help me to know myself better and to know my talents,
as I try to choose my life’s work.
Help me to see and to understand all the possibilities open to me.
Help me choose a path which will be a response to your love for me.
Give me strength Lord, to follow your will for me,
and to do well in whatever I choose. Amen.

Lord, give me your strength and support as I face the challenges of life.
Help me to accept my true vocation: to see beyond the uncertainty
of the future by resting in the certainty of your steadfast love.
Help me to discover any gifts that will enable me to be an expression
of your love in the world. Trusting in your will, I open my heart
to your love and your call. Amen.

Prayers for an Increase of Vocations to Religious Life

Lord God, grant that more women and men will be open
to the challenge of dedicating their lives to the ministry
of building your kingdom.
If you desire that one of our family or friends follow you in this way,
grant us the wisdom and insight to support and encourage
that person to listen to your voice and follow you without delay.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Loving God, you call all who believe in you to grow perfect in love
by following in the footsteps of Christ, your Son.
Call from among us more men and women who will
serve you as religious.
By their way of life, may they provide a convincing sign
of your kingdom for the church and the whole world.
We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

 

 

Prayer for Our Missionaries

Most holy and loving God, you called and challenged St. Arnold Janssen
to proclaim your Gospel to peoples everywhere.
To your Spirit’s prompting, St. Arnold responded with generous
devotion to form three communities of religious missionaries.
Watch over, bless and guide the communities of Sisters, dedicated
to the Holy Spirit, and the Brothers and Priests committed to
the Divine Word.
All caring God, invite by name more young men and women
to be missionaries in our day. Embrace them with your grace; inflame
them with your youthful zeal.
In faith, we make this prayer through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
